Creative Computing Online Workshop -- Summer 2013

Instructors: Scratch Ed Team at Harvard University

Reflection: I found out about this course through a post on the ISED listserv and was excited to join. Our 5th graders have used Scratch in the past with another teacher, but with the move to Chromebooks, it wasn't possible to use it. The release of Scratch 2.0 is exciting and I was eager to learn how to program in Scratch and for the affordances it can bring to teaching digital literacy and storytelling in my classes.

Description: Creative Computing was a six-week online workshop for educators who wanted to learn more about using Scratch and supporting computational thinking in the classroom and other learning environments. The workshop, which was free, began on Monday, June 3 and ended on Friday, July 12. Check out the FAQ for more information about this learning experience.

Creative Computing was facilitated by members of the ScratchEd Team at Harvard University, and was made possible with funding from the CS4HS program at Google.
