Make Way for Ducklings - Boston Commons
I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts and graduated from Dartmouth in 1992 with a BA in English.  I completed my Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in literacy and technology and learning at Michigan State University and taught middle school English and technology at Kentucky Country Day School for over 20 years.

I currently live in Boston, Massachusetts and teach in the Lower School at The Winsor School.

I participate in writing communities through Inked Voices, GrubStreet, and Kindling Words, and I'm a member of KidLit in Color, Black Creators in Kidlit, the #22Debuts, and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. I am a member of the Writers Board of NaNoWriMo and serve as a Director on the board of AANE (Asperger/Autism Network).

I'm represented by Lindsay Davis Auld of Writers House.

I love inspirational quotes.  Here are a few to live by...

"Everyone can be great because anyone can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't even have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve...You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."
      --Martin Luther King, Jr.

"You must be the change you want to see in the world."
      --Mahatma Gandhi

"I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day."
      --E. B. White
